Background
Ravi Kumar is an experienced Consultant Paediatrician who has been working at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, Reading since August 2002. He has a passion for teaching and training and has completed a postgraduate certificate in medical education. He is involved in the recruitment, teaching, training and assessment of all Paediatric trainees in the Oxford School of Paediatrics. He is an Advanced Paediatric Life Support instructor and is involved in teaching advanced resuscitation skills to doctors & nurses. He is also a MRCPCH examiner for the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health and has been nominated to become a Senior examiner for the MRCPCH examinations.
He specialises in General Paediatrics and has expertise in diagnosis & management of various medical conditions in babies & children 16 years and under;
- Infant feeding problems such as reflux, cow’s milk allergy
- Headaches, migraine & migraine variant; fits, faints & funny turns or possible epilepsy
- Chest pain, syncope &palpitations, heart murmurs
- UTI’s
- Respiratory problems including wheeze, asthma, persistent cough;
- Bowel problems including recurrent abdominal pain, constipation & persistent loose stools;
- Unusual head shape; growth concerns; initial diagnosis of severe fatigue; initial assessment of developmental concerns and then appropriate onward referral;
- Other general paediatric problems
Ravi Kumar will be seeing all private General Paediatrics referrals at Spire Dunedin Hospital, Reading. For all referrals please liaise with Helen Douglass directly.
